HSL Construction Are Fully CHAS Accredited
HSL Construction, are members of several Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP). They include Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS), Safe Contractor and Construction line.
The Health, Safety and Welfare of our workforce, clients and members of the public are always a Major consideration in any project HSL Construction undertakes.
These Accreditations along with the services of our External H&S Advisor underline our commitment and support us in our Safe Working Practices.
As part of our annual yearly assessment for CHAS, our employees undertake Health Screen Monitoring for HAVS, NOISE, LUNG and DERMITITIS; the purpose of this exercise is to monitor all tasks that employees are asked to perform to help prevent any future Health problems.
Our Mobile Welfare Unit provides our staff with facilities for washing, cooking and first Aid and is constantly on the move around the country to help provide a safe and secure working environment for our workers, when working on far away projects.
RPE Face Fit Tests
Most recently as part of our commitment to the Health, safety and Welfare of our employees and using guidance from the HSE, we have had all of our Ground working and Highway Maintenance Operatives Face fit tested for the Quantitive (RPE) Face Mask. These tests were carried out by an Industry Accredited RPE Face fit provider and all operatives are now using these in their everyday tasks.
HSL Construction are Members of CITB Levy
Our Plant Operatives and Groundwork specialist teams have a wealth of experience in the industry and receive regular on-going training and refresher courses as part of our continued growth and ever-changing Industry requirements.
As members for the CITB Levy we aim towards 90% of our staff being NVQ trained and holders of CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) and CSCS (Construction skills certificate Scheme). In addition, our teams have specialist training for working on the Roads and Highways in the form of NRSWA Certification (New Road and Street Works Act).
Managers work closely to assess the training and skills of all our employees, having regular Staff Appraisals to determine where further training can be most beneficial.
